You’ll work closely with the founder to maintain accurate financial records, assist in reporting to lenders, and optimise bookkeeping processes.</p><p>If you’re highly proficient in <strong>Xero and Excel</strong>, have a strong understanding of financial best practices, and enjoy working independently, this is your chance to play a pivotal role in a growing UK business – all from the comfort of your home in South Africa.</p><p></p><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul> <li> Maintain accurate financial records across five entities using <strong>Xero</strong>, integrated with <strong>Dext</strong> and <strong>Cresco</strong>. </li> <li> Perform monthly <strong>bank and invoice reconciliations</strong>. </li> <li> Use or quickly learn tools like <strong>Fathom</strong> for cash flow forecasting. </li> <li> Prepare and submit <strong>monthly drawdown schedules</strong> for development finance. </li> <li> Compile and send accurate <strong>lender reports</strong>, including Excel schedules and invoice packs. </li> <li> Track and analyse <strong>cost variances</strong> between fee proposals and actual invoices. </li> <li> Support the founder in analysing <strong>budget vs actual</strong> performance across developments. </li> <li> Assist with <strong>data management</strong> from appraisal spreadsheets and forecasts. </li> <li> Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements in <strong>finance workflows</strong>. </li> <li> Reduce manual oversight by ensuring precision and consistency in financial processes. </li> </ul><p></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li> Minimum <strong>3 years of bookkeeping experience</strong>, ideally in a multi-entity environment. </li> <li> <strong>Advanced skills in Xero and Microsoft Excel</strong> (non-negotiable). </li> <li> Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently. </li> <li> Comfortable working with UK-based clients and familiar with UK financial systems. </li> <li> Access to a <strong>laptop</strong> and <strong>reliable internet connection</strong>. </li> </ul><p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p><ul> <li> Experience in <strong>construction or property development</strong> finance. </li> <li> Familiarity with <strong>Dext, Cresco, and Fathom</strong> (or ability to learn quickly). </li> <li> Exposure to <strong>drawdown schedules</strong>, <strong>lender reporting</strong>, and <strong>quantity surveying principles</strong>.</li> </ul>
